Questions for the AG

State House Representative Tony Shipley has sent a few questions to our Attorney General concerning Red Light Cameras or as we lovingly refer them, Scameras. If you would like to check it out head over to The Show and take a look see. Also, for a general sense of where this is heading one should also visit the State’s legislative website and review the Transportation Committee meeting that was held on the 11th of January. Although most of the committee seems content on regulating rather than eliminating these scameras, Mr. Shipley makes it very clear that there is a very real possibility that they do not pass the constitutional mustard.

There are more than a few states that have already declared redlight and speed cameras unconstitutional, hopefully Tennessee will be next. According to one legislator, recent polling concludes that redlight cameras are even more unpopular than the state income tax that was defeated years ago.  Legislators Tony Shipley, Mathew Hill, and Jason Mumpower are hearing their constituents loud and clear up here in Northeast Tennessee. It is time for the people to rise up and put these tools of tyranny to rest. Join the fight today by calling or emailing your representatives and letting them know that we have had enough. Only you can prevent scameras!
